Victoria Lomasko

Victoria Lomasko is a Russian graphic artist. She was born in Serpukhov and studied at the Moscow State University of Printing Arts. She graduated in 2003, with a major in graphic art and book design. Her first book, Forbidden Art, written with Anton Nikolaev, won Russia’s prestigious Kandinsky prize. She documents the side of Russian life the authorities would rather no one noticed. After Russia's full invasion in Ukraine, Lomasko fled Russia for Brussels, Belgium. This period coincided with promotion of her latest book, The Last Soviet Artist, in Europe and an exhibit based on it in Brescia, Italy, as part of Brescia's Festival For Peace.
